Tyramine
Tyramine ( a food amine) occurs naturally in food and has been particularly linked with migraines. It is an example of how easy it is to misread food intolerance - if your problem is Tyramine and you test cheese (high in Tyramine) in isolation then the migraines may abate only to return.
If you suffer from recurring migraines, that respond to no treatment,
consider testing for a Tyramine sensitivity. Other implicating symptoms
may also include high blood pressure, palpitations, agitation,
nervousness and circulation problems.
One of the key elements in testing for a Tyramine sensitivity is to eat food as fresh as possible as the ageing, fermenting and ripening processes all increase the amount of Tyramine.
Food lists and further information on Tyramine can be found in Migraine and Food Intolerance and also in Change Your Diet and Change Your Life.
