About
The Food Can Make You Ill website first appeared online in 2000. It has gone through various stages of change and growth since that time but has consistently been one of the most popular web sites on food intolerance.
I started the site site because I was, and still am, deeply concerned that many people are struggling with physical and mental health problems that, for some, could be reduced or even completely eliminated by a change in their diet. I live in the UK and when I first began to discover that I was food intolerant I had enormous problems in finding the detailed information I needed to get well.
My hope is that this site, and my books, will provide you with that information. My intention is to share knowledge and information that can bring about better health and a better quality of life for those who are not ill but simply food intolerant
Please note that I am not a doctor, nor do I have any medical training. I have postgraduate degrees in Social Anthropology and Computing and many years of work experience with non profit organisations and in the field of social research. My expertise for this site comes from my own experience and years of research - the information is out there but finding it can be a challenge.
You can read more about my story at the start of the The Food Intolerance Handbook and in the Introduction to the Salicylate Handbook.
As of April 2024, I no longer write about Food Intolerance but the books mentioned all remain in print and available to buy. For the time being this site will also remain available. Regretfully I don't have the time to continue answering individual questions but most are answered in the FAQs and in the individual books.
I hope you enjoy your visit and find the information that you need.
May health, wealth and happiness always be yours.
